Information Flow of an Introduction to Young Living
The following can be used as an outline for anything from a 15 minute discussion to a 2 day presentation, depending on the depth of information shared. You can have this sitting next to you as you talk to someone on the phone, or sitting across the kitchen table from you. In an introductory setting, you can pick sections important to you and share those, or you can give a brief overview of this information.

3. What are oils
- What essential oils are and how they're extracted from the plant
- Concentrated plant material - rose (it takes 5,000 lbs of rose petals to make one lb. of oil), peppermint (one drop of peppermint oil is equivalent to 28 cups of peppermint tea)

- Additional 21% oxygen availability within 20 minutes of application, gone in 2 1/2 hours (no toxic buildup)

7. Precautions
- Some oils heat up - keep vegetable oil handy.
- Skin test
- Oils high in phenols: oregano, thyme, cinnamon, clove, lemongrass, bergamot, - may damage contacts or heat up on the skin - what to do
- Getting them in the eyes - what to do
- Sensitive skin of the elderly, babies - peppermint and Thieves too hot for the neck of children
- Pregnancy - always err on the side of caution
- Epilepsy (be careful with hyssop, fennel, basil, wintergreen, nutmeg, rosemary, peppermint, sage, tarragon, and Idaho tansy
- Medications - be respectful of a person's choice to use medications, and never tell someone to get off of their medications without a doctor's assistance
- Citrus oils - photosensitive
- Internal - start with a small quantity
- Bath - disperse in bath gel base - be careful which oils you choose
